The Cushens, who have been involved in woollen textile manufacturing since the 18th century, are now in their sixth generation of crafting exceptional textiles in Graiguenamanagh, Ireland. They are acutely aware of their family's history and heritage and strive to carry forward their reputation and standard of quality and excellence every day by spinning yarn and weaving blankets. The Cushens source their Mohair yarn from a supplier in Italy and then dye, spin, and weave it under one roof in Ireland. Wool, a material that is breathable, biodegradable, and highly resistant, is anchored in history and remains an essential tool for the sustainable development of our world. Cushendale and Graiguenamanagh are part of the World Crafts Council's designated Craft City & Region, one of only four regions in Europe.
